Completion of several new buildings illustrate the success Kort are enjoying with their current product range!

Congratulations to Metaaldraaierrij Sepers on completion of Afon Cadnant for Holyhead Towing Ltd. This TRIPLE SCREW vessel becomes the largest in the Holyhead fleet and achieved 54.5 tonnes bollard pull on trials.
Kort were involved at an early stage with the Owners to ensure that performance was achieved. Cummins KTA50M2 engines are installed with a rating or 1700bhp/line at 1800 rpm with ZF gearboxes and 1800mm diameter propellers with Kort Nozzles designed and supplied by Kort.
The vessel has Weka boxcoolers for the main & auxiliary engines, again supplied by Kort.
A Kort KT250 tunnelthruster completes the package which is a unit of 750mm propeller diameter with hydraulic drive. FOUR wheelhouse control units are fitted.
This is the latest in a long line of Holyhead vessels with Kort equipment many of which have been built at Hepworth Shipyard in the UK, who are currently building Afon Cymyran which is an identical TRIPLE SCREW vessel for completion in March 2008.

Parkol Marine and Arnold Locker, Kort customers since 1984 when we supplied a fixed nozzle and new propeller to Radiant Morn, also deserve congratulations on completion of OUR LASS II for Locker Trawlers. This 21.5m vessel is the largest to be built in the UK for some time and has Kort supplied Weka boxcoolers and KT90L bowthruster which has been integrated with the deck machinery package.

This unit has propeller diameter of 505mm and gives approx 600 kg thrust. Skipper James Locker has recorded great landings and seems to have mastered this new vessel designed by Ian Paton from day one!

Sales of Hercules Hatches overseas continue to rise with recent orders from Denmark, Faroes, Norway and for the very first time Australia. Rose Parsons deserves special credit for achieving this order and the following testimonial from our customer is worth reporting here:

"Dear Rose, good morning. Just a quick note to let you know that the hatches arrived quickly and safely and are at the moment being installed on the boat. The workmanship and quality of the hatches is far beyond my expectations. Absolutely superb. Thank you and Kort Propulsion for your valued assistance - it was a pleasure having done business with you"

Kort supplied a 2020 and 3628 for his vessel Seaquest.

Notable orders for Vibracon Mounts have significantly increased our sales of this product during 2007.

Noel O Regan our good friend in the Republic of Ireland handled conversion of the fishing vessel Fiona K which had existing Heimdal CP propeller. Bollard Pull was increased from 12.5 to 16.4 tonnes (31% improvement) and free running speed maintained.

Noise levels are lower than ever and fuel consumption is down from 110 lires/hour to approx 90 litres/hour (approx 18%). The existing CP blades were trimmed to suit the Kort Nozzle and pitch angle increased on trials to achieve full engine load.
All in all a great conversion!

Special mention should be made of Condor Ferries who are the first Kort customers to install MICAD fuel monitoring systems on their vessels Condor Express and Condor Vitesse. Fine tuning of the system will be completed later this month. More details soon.

We should also mention a flying start for our new employee Jose da Silva from Valenca Portugal. Since starting with us on 1st July, we have sold two KT250 . Bowthruster units to fishing vessels in Northern Spain, several Hercules Hatches to shipyards in Portugal and Vibracon Mounts to Volvo locally. His efforts have been superb and the number of new contacts and interest generated bodes well for the future.

Finally, we must mention several orders for Fernstrum gridcoolers from the USA. There are sets in production for newbuildings at Macduff Shipyards which have Kort thrusters, Kort Nozzles and sterngear,
Mustang Marine which also has a Kort thruster and several engine manufacturers.
ALL IN ALL a good spread or business for our quality products.
