Norman P. Parsons - Sadly Passed away on 23rd June 2009
Malcolm Breeze - Consultant (Former Managing Director & Shareholder)
Malcolm and Norman have worked together since 1970. We are both experienced in Propeller Design and supply of all items of propulsion equipment.
After a 5 year apprenticeship with R H Green & Silley Weir and HNC from Poplar Technical College, London, Norman spent 3 years at The University of Newcastle upon Tyne completing his B Sc in Naval Architecture in 1976. Since that time he has been employed in a number of roles at Kort and has experience of all technical and commercial aspects of the Company.
Malcolm has similar experience having completed his apprenticeship at Cammel Laird on Merseyside before also attending Newcastle University. Malcolm Joined Kort in 1970 after spending some time working for Lloyds Register in London. Malcolm now works part time having recently retired.
Brief resumes for other staff are given below. All Kort personnel are capable of taking enquiries by phone and where necessary referring these to relevant specialists.
Enquiries for Hercules Hatches & Vibracons can be handled by all and we do have facilities for payment by debit or credit card.
David Parsons - Managing Director
David joined us in March 2005 to handle Sales of certain products. David does not have an engineering background, but has established good relationships with our subcontractors, customers and Principals in Holland, Germany, Portugal and the UK. He is able to handle enquiries for all Kort products and could be your first contact by phone.
Cathryn Palmer- Design Engineer
Cathryn has worked for us for 8-9 years and works from home. She handles and controls most of our design work. Cathryn can be asked technical queries if Malcolm or Norman are not around and is capable of preparing propeller and sterngear quotations, together with offers for all other items supplied from Kort and our other agencies. Recently has just got married in Mexico. Well Done!!!
Rose Parsons - Office Manager, Accounts & Sales Assistant
Rose should only work Part-time (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). She will sometimes work from home making payments etc. She is primarily here to answer the phone, check the post, chase money etc.
Rose is the person to ask if you have any problems if Norman is not around.
Ted McEntee - Sales Manager
Ted joined us on 4th September 2006. Previously General Manager of Hamble Propellers and prior to that Sales Engineer for Teignbridge Propeller Group for over 10 years. Ted lives near Southampton and works from home, coming to the office occasionally. His role is to handle Sales and Marketing in conjunction with David.
Mr Navit Parikh - Parikh Power Pvt - Managing Director - Exclusive Indian Distributor
In Marine business since 30 years dealing for Marine Engines/Marine Generator sets with every shipyard in India. Also shipping companies like Shipping Co-operation of India, ESSAR Shipping. Parikh Power is enjoying excellent representation for timely delivery and services in India.
Jose Manuel da Silva - Sales Represenative in Spain and Portugal
Joined Kort on 1st June 2007 as Sales representative for Spain & Portugal. Works from his home in Valenca which is approx 1 hour drive north of Oporto close to the Spanish border.
Jose was a former employer of Fundilusa, a propeller foundry who have supplied us with many propellers since 1993.
Sharon Parsons & Cassie Parsons
Sharon is Norman & Rose's sister-in-law. Cassie is David's wife. Both work part-time.
Sharon Monday-Thursday 09.30-13.30. Cassie Tuesday & Thursday 09.30-13.30.
Sharon provides support with office administration and guidance for Cassie whose main role is filing.
Both may also undertake some work on customer databases for mailshots.
Paige Campbell - Sales/Admin Assistant
Paige joint Kort Propulsion in September 2008 after impressing on her two week work experience from School. Her main role is to work alongside David and support with general office administration. Paige also attended recent exhibitons in the UK.
Rob Crang is the Owner of Hercules CSMD in Dartmouth who are our partners in production of Kort Thrusters and producers of Hercules Hatches. We are sole distributors for Hercules Hatches. Rob is our main subcontractor and a good person to ask for any engineering queries. Other contacts at Hercules are Trevor Olliver , Samantha (Rob's wife) and Matthew.
Steve Radford is the Managing Director of Hercules Hydraulics who work very closely with installations and commissioning on our range of Tunnel Thrusters. A excellent service for any Hydraulic work to be carried out. Other contacts at Hercules Hydraulics are Ryan, Jim, Steff and Dave.
